The "Publication" content type is structured content and has a limited number of fields. Authors and publications can be linked to People profiles on your site.
To create a new publication, hover over Add content in the Shortcuts menu and click "Add Publication."

Complete the Publication Fields
The fields available to edit include:
Title
Citation
Image (optional)
Body (optional description of the published work)
Publication year (choose from dropdown)
Author: This is a field that allows multiple items, and allows linking to people on the site.

Fill in the author's name as the title field and (optionally) select the person to link from the dropdown. Click "Create Author" when finished.

Repeat for any additional authors.
Publication Type
This is a taxonomy term. You'll need to create a publication type before it can be selected. See the Manage Taxonomy guide to learn more.
Publication Image and Publication Document
Theseare both media library items. Click "Add Media" to add a new item or select from a list of media already on the site. See the section on Managing Media to learn more.
