H&S Web Team: Direct Support

Contact the H&S Web Team

Because roles sometimes shift and people are occasionally out of office, the fastest and most effective way to reach us is via support ticket. These tickets go to our team's centralized hub, ensuring they don't get lost in someone's inbox.

Attend Office Hours

Our team holds a monthly office hour via Zoom. Join us on the last Friday of every month from 11am to noon. Office hours are a very casual way to get personalized help with all of your website questions. Generally, several members of our team attend each month. You're also welcome to just stop by and say hello if you're new - we love seeing new faces!

Group-Based Support

Slack Channel

All new H&S Web Editors are added to a community of practice Slack channel. This is a space where you can ask questions or seek feedback from other H&S website editors. This is also a place where the H&S Web Team posts announcements about new feature releases and other important information.

Self-Paced Support

Training Videos

If you're new to H&S websites, the  Training Videos  are a great place to start. The videos start at the very basics, including logging in and orienting yourself to the functions, and progress to more advanced topics. The videos are bookmarked so you can jump directly to the section of interest.

This Wiki Guide

The wiki guide - the place you are right now! - contains a wealth of information and step-by-step instructions. Most guides are text-based, but several contain videos for those who prefer to follow along visually.
Explore the  Table of Contents  to find relevant topics.

Reference Websites

We've built out websites that display every design option for each component that is available on your site. Change the display settings to match your website's color palette so that you can see exactly how various elements, such as Color Bands and Spotlights, will render on your unit's website.
Check out the  Traditional reference site  or the  Colorful reference site . Not sure which theme your site uses? Look at the "SUNet Login" button: if it's square, you're on the traditional theme. If it's rounded, you're on colorful.

Digital Accessibility Support

Stanford Office of Digital Accessibility (SODA)

The Office of Digital Accessibility is the best place to find answers to all of your accessibility related questions. SODA has instructional information on various topics related to accessibility, as well as step-by-step guides for ensuring documents, spreadsheets, slide decks, and PDFs are accessible to all users, regardless of disability status. You can also sign up for their weekly office hours every Tuesday from 11am to noon.

Deque University: Digital Accessibility Training

All H&S web editors are required to take a series of courses related to digital accessibility. These courses are offered online via Deque University. Four courses are required of all web editors, and additional courses are available based on interest and need. For example, users who create brochures or flyers are encouraged to take the  course on InDesign , and users who build spreadsheets are encouraged to take the  course on Excel .
